On top of adding a bit of beauty, it also adds another layer of respect and appreciation for Aboriginal culture. The cherry on top is it amplifies your Acknowledgement of Country with the energy and stories I embedded it with.

The River of Connection: A Journey to Unity

“The River of Connection” is a powerful visual metaphor for life’s journey and the choice between separation and unity. Flowing through the center of the piece, the river represents effortless connection, carrying people from birth through life and ultimately to the ocean—the spirit realm, where we all reunite. Within the river, people are vibrant, healthy, and joyful, bound together by love, inclusion, and acceptance. On either side of the river, the black land symbolizes division. People stand on the riverbanks, longing for connection but held back by fear, hate, and oppressive systems that have taught them to separate from one another. Their gray, sickly forms reflect the isolation and suffering that comes from disconnection. Scattered dots of various sizes illustrate how even within their own groups, division keeps them apart. Yet, there is hope. The river is always there, inviting them to take the leap—to reject fear and division, to embrace love, and to join the global family of unity and belonging. In the river, no one is ever alone. This piece serves as a reminder that connection is a choice, and when we choose love, we find healing, strength, and a shared humanity.

“The Flow of Happiness” is an energetic and radiant expression of the emotions and sensations that happiness brings to our lives. Through flowing, river-like forms, this piece captures the ease and natural movement of joy, while bursts of explosive shapes embody the exhilaration of pure, unfiltered happiness. Using vibrant yellows and purples in bold contrast, the artwork celebrates the beauty and intensity of happiness, both as a fleeting moment and a deeper emotional state. Threads of Connection: Culture, Spirit, and Universe

Humanity

Humanity is a vivid tapestry of colors and patterns, illustrating diverse communities living in harmony. A single river flows through the painting, a shared life source that sustains each of these communities.

Though some communities are privileged to be situated along the riverbanks, they do not guard their access or restrict others. Instead, they recognise the shared humanity of all people, regardless of community.

In this world, access to water—a symbol of life—is open to all, embodying a collective commitment to equity and mutual support.

Djinda (stars)

Djinda is a depiction of the seven sisters constellation. Seven sisters dreaming is the dreaming of the dreaming of my people. This piece shows the djinda (stars) of the Seven Sisters or Pleiades star system and neighbouring stars.

Knowing where you came from helps us to navigate a fulfilling life. This painting acts as a reminder to remember our stories, even before we were born, so we can take meaningful steps in the creation of the current story we create for ourselves and for future generations.

Rainbow Connection

The Rainbow Connections expresses the interconnectedness of everything in the universe from the celestial & spirit planes all the way to the earthly boodja (country/land) planes.

Six Seasons of Life

This is an artistic rendition of the journey of life, based on the Noongar six seasons.

Being born from boodja (land) and moving through the seasons of Makaru (fertility), Djilba (conception), Kambarang (birth), Birak (young), Bunuru (adolescence), and Djeran (adulthood) while under the love and protection of the good spirits and our Ancestors.

Connection

This piece is called Connection and is a depiction of connection on so many levels.

On one level it’s our connection with moort (family), Koorda (friends), and communities. While on another it could be our connection with parts of our identity or our thoughts via the synapses in our brains.

The interconnected nature of this painting transcends single planes of existence and explores microscopic, macroscopic, and spiritual realms of the concept of connection too.

Moort (family)

Moort (family) is a painting that came to me very vividly in a meditation.

It shares the diversity of what a family looks like. There are representations of adults, children, and passed loved ones. There are representations of girls, boys, non-binary people, women and men. There are same-sex parents & heterosexual parents as well as single-parent families and polyamorous families in this piece too.

Karda (the hills)

All the karda (hills) and landforms are special and have their own uniqueness. It may be a hill but there isn’t a single hill that is like it.

Can you see yourself in this painting?

While we may be one of 8 billion people on the planet, you are special and unique. There isn’t a single person in the world like you.

This painting allows us to celebrate our commonalities and our uniqueness simultaneously.

Ngalang Bidi (our journey)

Ngalange Bidi tells a story of the life (physical) and death (spiritual) path we walk.

It shares the non-linear path we walk through life with many re-directions we choose to walk. And it shows the beautiful journey we also get to enjoy in the spirit realm.

It’s a wonderful cycle of life and death and the continuance of our spirit, our soul, and our essence for eternity.
